A Polish man has been found guilty of the murders of two of his fellow countrymen in Luton.
Marek Miazga, 41, of Brook Street, Luton, had denied killing brothers Waldemar Markuszewski, 43, and Andrzej Markuszewski, 46.
Their bodies were found at their Luton home in June 2005 – two days after they were bludgeoned to death with bar bells, Luton Crown Court heard.
Miazga was given a life sentence and told he would serve at least 25 years. BBC online article 12th May 2008

Jurijus Kadamovas (1966-) and Iouri Mikhel (1965-) are two Russian immigrants to the United States currently on Federal death row for 5 kidnapping for ransom related murders. The kidnappings occurred over a four-month period beginning in late 2001, in which the kidnappers demanded ransom. Documents related to the case allege the crew demanded a total of more than $5.5 million from relatives and associates, and received more than $1 million from victim’s relatives.
Prosecutors said the victims were killed regardless of whether the ransoms were paid. The bodies were tied with weights, and dumped in a reservoir near Yosemite National Park. Federal prosecutors sought the death penalty under murder during a hostage-taking, a federal crime.

Labeled by prosecutors as a ‘monster’ who deserves ‘the ultimate penalty’, convicted murderer Blaine Keith Milam was sentenced late Thursday night to die by lethal injection for his role in the beating death of his girlfriend’s daughter.
Milam, 20, was convicted of capital murder May 17 for killing 13-month-old Amora Carson, the daughter of his girlfriend, Jessica Carson.
Amora Carson died from blunt-force trauma inflicted on her December 2nd 2008. Milam and Jessica Carson, both of Rusk County, said they repeatedly struck the toddler with an unknown object in an attempt to remove demons from the child during an exorcism.
