On 30th October 1969 Helen Puttock went out dancing with her sister in Glasgow. Her body was discovered the next morning in a backcourt near the family home. One such case was the disappearance of fourteen-year-old Vicky Hamilton in 1991. ibid.
The police discovered Tobin had moved from Bathgate to the seaside town of Margate just before Dinah went missing. ibid.
Forensic tests revealed that Tobin had drugged, raped and strangled Vicky in his Bathgate home. Later he cut her body in two, transported her remains to his new house in Margate and buried her. But Tobin’s horrors didn’t end with Vicky. ibid.

Tobin was born in 1946 near Glasgow. He had a troubled childhood spending time in a young offenders’ institute. He would go on to marry three times and have two children. Over the years his various ex-wives would claim Tobin subjected them to physical and mental abuse. ibid.
