RAND, ANDRE: Cropsey 2009 - Killer Legends 2014 -
Growing up on Staten Island, Barbara and I had often heard the legend of Cropsey. For the kids in our neighbourhood, Cropsey was the escaped mental patient who lived in the tunnels beneath the old abandoned Willowbrook mental institution. He would come out late at night and snatch children off the streets. Cropsey, 2009

Every town has its legends. Every neighbourhood has its bogeyman. A killer with a hook for a hand. A drifter who snatches children. The witch who lives in the woods. When I was growing up in Stanten Island it was Cropsy about an escaped mental patient who lived in these buildings who snatched children off the street. This urban legend turned real when five neighbourhood children went missing. Killer Legends, Netflix 2014
