★ Stone & Stones & Rock

The Bahamas.  These are the Bimini Islands.  Just under 60 miles off the coast of Miami, Bimini is separated from the mainland of America by a deepwater channel known as the Straits of Florida.  Ancient Apocalypse s1e4: Ghosts of a Drowned World

A massive structure of carefully laid giant stones with every appearance of being a megalithic roadway or paved terrace.  ibid.

In their excitement they announced to the world they had found the road to Atlantis itself.  ibid.

The slabs are remarkably straight-edged and parallel.  ibid.

This part of the Bahamas has been underwater for thousands of years.  ibid.

To the ancients, stargazing would have been the greatest show on Earth.  The most entertaining way to pass their long dark nights.  Ancient Apocalypse s1e5: Legacy of the Sages

Ancient pyramids and temples all around the world connect sky and ground with precise alignments of the Sun, Moon and stars.  ibid.

Gobekli Tepe: It shouldn’t exist.  Archaeologists accept that it dates back to around 11,600 years ago, making this the oldest acknowledged monument structure on Earth.  It’s a highly sophisticated, highly advanced megalithic site.  ibid.

It’s older even than the invention of the wheel.  ibid.

What is this place? … How ambitious and imposing it must have been in its prime.  ibid.

Megaliths weighing up to ten tons … How these massive blocks were lifted and set in place nobody knows.  ibid.

Symbols of animals are to be found everywhere at Gobekli Tepe.  ibid.

How did a community of Stone Age hunter-gatherers succeed so brilliantly at building with megaliths at their very first attempt?  ibid.

Up to 20 other stone enclosures inside the hill and up to 200 pillars.  Most remain unexcavated.  ibid.

In 2019 Turkish archaeologists began excavations at another site about an hour’s drive east, called Karahan Tepe.  ibid.

There was no agriculture at Gobekli Tepe when it was built.  ibid.

Around 10,000 years ago all the structures were buried, rapidly and quite deliberately at the same time.  ibid.

When did humans first reach the Americas?  Ancient Apocalypse s1e6: America’s Lost Civilisation

The discovery of much older archaeological remains.  Fossilised human footprints have been found in the New Mexican desert that date to 22,000 years ago, the height of the last Ice Age.  ibid.

The few sites that survive may be critical in establishing the possibility of a lost civilisation.  ibid.

Poverty Point: An immense man-made earthen structure, today known simply as Mound A … part of a much larger ancient complex.  ibid.

Ohio, a stunning example of an effigy mound.  A gigantic earthwork shaped into the form of a living creature.  In this case, a 400-metre long snake.  It’s called Serpent Mound.  ibid.

They practice censorship by ridiculing and insulting alternative ideas.  ibid.

We have already seen such serpent imagery in ancient monuments all over the world.  ibid.

Turkey’s Cappadocia region.  There’s an ancient survival bunker deep underground.  Built not just to shelter a few people but to shelter thousands … This is the story of Derinkuyu.  Ancient Apocalypse s1e7: A Fatal Winter

One of the most remarkable large-scale projects humanity has ever embarked upon deep beneath this soft rock.  ibid.

It’s an ant farm built human-size, with subterranean caves and tunnels extending over an area of four square kilometres.  To keep it well ventilated, Derinkuyu has upwards of 15,000 air ducts connecting the upper levels to the surface.  And more than 50 vertical shafts.  ibid.

Which people?  When?  And why?  ibid.

There are many cultures who used these tunnels over the centuries.  ibid.

Here in Cappadocia, archaeologists have identified 36 such underground cities.  And if we count the ones with just 2 levels, that number balloons to 200.  ibid.

There was a period of great floods during the Younger Dryas, much resembling those described in myths.  They’ve also noted that afterward, temperatures around the planet plummeted.  A fatal winter indeed.  And then there’s that detail linking the onset of the fatal winter to the arrival of a Great Snake out of the sky.  ibid.

Serpent [comet] symbolism: A warning left behind by survivors … that one day a similar catastrophe would return.  ibid.

At sites all around the globe we’ve seen what I believe after the fingerprints of a lost civilisation dating back to the last Ice Age.  Ancient Apocalypse s1e8: Cataclysm & Rebirth

Many of them tell the same basic story.  ibid.

The wonders of the Channeled Scablands … it’s so enormous … The Falls are just one section of a monstrous ravine ... What really happened here?  ibid.

An apocalypse on a scale that’s almost impossible to imagine today … The violence arrived.  ibid.

The biggest flash flood in human history … much like the ones destribed in myths around the world.  ibid.

‘There was a peak of platinum and iridium.’  ibid.  scientist

A brief intense storm of debris that the Earth ran into … the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis.  ibid.

An immense global cataclysm around 12,800 years ago.  And apocalypse big enough to have obliterated almost all traces of an advanced civilisation of the Ice Age.  ibid.

I’ve been exploring the possibility of a lost civilisation in prehistory for more than 30 years.  Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas s2e1: Chapter I, Netflix 2024

One of the most striking places in North America: White Sands, New Mexico … Forcing a rewrite of the history of the pre-Americas.  ibid.

These fossilised human footprints must have been made in the time of the mammoths and the giants sloths.  At least 11,500 years ago.  And there are thousands of them.  ibid.

‘At least from 21 to 23,000 years ago.’  ibid.  scientist

The timeline of history keeps receding with every new discovery.  ibid.

Where astounding secrets of the human past are now beginning to be revealed: this is the Amazon.  ibid.

Giant geometrical shapes as much as 1,000 feet across … spread across an area the size of West Virginia.  ibid.

Ancient raised roads connecting the geoglyphs.  ibid.

These enormous in the Amazon point to a monumental human endeavour.  But how many of them are there?  Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas s2e2: Chapter II

Rock Art are in the Americas: known as pictographs … When were these images painted? … Art work created during the last Ice Age.  ibid.

Most compelling to me are the hand-prints … a message to the future.  ibid.

Brazil: These paintings push the date back future - to more than 25,000 years ago.  ibid.

The Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis … Evidence may be present etched into these walls.  ibid.

2015: They found that members of certain Amazonian tribes share a specific DNA marker with people from the other side of the Pacific Ocean.  ibid.

This DNA signal is not found anywhere in North America.  What’s more, the DNA signal is very old: at least 10,000 years.  ibid.

Easter Island: ‘In this study of the different food we have, the result came with the banana.  They found the banana on the island three thousands years ago.’  Ancient Apocalypse: The Americas s2e3: Chapter III, expert

The plants are helping us push the timeline back.  ibid.

More evidence of Veracocha’s legacy … More than 11,000 feet above sea level: this is Sascayhuaman.  This is one of the world’s most extraordinary ancient sites and one of the most mysterious.  The vast hilltop site is filled with archaeological wonders crafted from stone.  ibid.

Incas: A civilisation that flourished across the high Andes.  ibid.

The Inca warriors made their last redoubt from behind these walls.  ibid.

A civilisation that pre-dates the Inca.  When I look at Sascayhuaman, I think I’m looking at the fingerprints of a lost technology.  ibid.

Hidden beneath the jungle canopy there are more cities.  Many more.  ibid.

This super-powered soil has been found all across the Amazon.  ibid.

‘Many of trees were have here  Brazil nut, many palms, are semi-cultivated and even cultivated and even domesticated.’  ibid.
