★ Psalms

The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.

When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.

He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labour unto the locust.

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with frost.

He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;

And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:

But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.  Psalms 78:31&34&44-52&59&66

How long, Lord?  Wilt thou be angry for ever?  Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.  Psalms 79:5&6

O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.  Psalms 80:4-6

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.  Psalms 82:1&6

That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.  Psalms 83:18

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.  I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.  Psalms 84:10-12

Wilt thou be angry with us for ever?  wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?  Psalms 85:5

Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.  Psalms 86:1-5

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.  Psalms 86:8

O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:

Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;

For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength.  Psalms 88:1-4

Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.

Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves.  Selah.

Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.

They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.

Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.  Psalms 88:6-8&16-18

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.  Psalms 89:1

Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.  Psalms 89:10

If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.  Psalms 89:31&32

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.  Psalms 90:7-9

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.  Psalms 91:1&2

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.  Psalms 92:7-9

O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.  Psalms 94:1&23

O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.  Psalms 96:1

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  Psalms 95:3

For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.  Psalms 96:4

A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.  Psalms 97:3

O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.  Psalms 98:1

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Psalms 100:1

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.  Psalms 101:8

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee.

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.  Psalms 102:1&2

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Psalms 103:1

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.  Psalms 103:9
