The bombing of the USS Cole. It is one of the first of a series of deadly strikes by Al Qaeda on US targets. The organisation responsible is quickly identified. CIA Declassified s1e8: Killing the Bombers

In 1959 the CIA is confronting a new enemy, Fidel Castro, the man who threatens to spread communism across America’s backyard. The US president, Dwight Eisenhower, wants him assassinated and the CIA is given the job. But they need someone who can break through his tight security. Their unlikely weapon a 19 year old woman named Marita Lorenz. This is the story of one of the most extraordinary CIA operations of them all. It will involve the Mafia, a Watergate burglar and Castro’s lover. CIA Declassified s1e9: Castro and the Cold Cream
‘Even if the imperalists prepare a blood drama for America, they will not succeed in crushing the peoples’ struggles. They will only arouse universal hatred against themselves. And such a drama will also mark the death of their greedy and carnivorious system.’ ibid. Castro
Since then there’s been an estimated 638 plots to kill Castro. ibid.
Guatemala, 1954: The Central Intelligence Agency launches an operation codenamed PBSuccess to overthrow the government that is threatening American interests in the region. It is the first ever mission of its kind. 500 rebels will face off against the President’s army of 6,000. The CIA has handpicked the next leader of Guatemala, and he is the head of the rebel force. In the mid 1980’s I was asked by an American legal institution known as the Christic Legal Institute to compile a comic book that would detail the murky history of the CIA from the end of the Second World War to the present day. Covering such things as the heroin smuggling during the Vietnam War, the cocaine smuggling during the war in Central America, the Kennedy assassination and other highlights.
What I learned during the frankly horrifying research that I had to slog through in order to accomplish this, was that yes, there is a conspiracy. In fact there are a great number of conspiracies that are all tripping each other up. And all of those conspiracies are run by paranoid fantasists, and ham-fisted clowns ...
The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is actually chaotic ... Nobody is in control. Alan Moore
Most of the secrets the CIA has are about people, not machines and systems, so I didn’t feel comfortable with disclosures that I thought could endanger anyone. Edward Snowden
It had all the earmarks of a CIA operation; the bomb killed everybody in the room except the intended target! William F Buckley junior
Let’s remember, the CIA’s job is to go out and create wars. Jesse Ventura
But what counter-insurgency really comes down to is the protection of the capitalists back in America, their property and their privileges. US national security, as preached by US leaders, is the security of the capitalist class in the US, not the security of the rest of the people. Philip Agee, CIA Diary 1975
Secret CIA operations constitute the usually unseen efforts to shore up unjust, unpopular, minority governments, always with the hope that overt military intervention ... will not be necessary. The more successful CIA operations are, the more remote overt intervention becomes, and the more remote become reforms. Latin America in the 1960s is all the proof one needs. ibid.
A considerable proportion of the developed world’s prosperity rests on paying the lowest possible prices for the poor countries’ primary products and on exporting high-cost capital and finished goods to those countries. Continuation of this kind of prosperity requires continuation of the relative gap between developed and underdeveloped countries – it means keeping poor people poor. ibid.
Increasingly, the impoverished masses are understanding that the prosperity of the developed countries and of the privileged minorities in their own countries is founded on their poverty. ibid.
In order to survive, nations need strong intelligence services. But the idea that the CIA is primarily an intelligence-gathering operation is itself one of the agency’s greatest propaganda triumphs. Despite its name, the Central Intelligence Agency’s main purpose is, and has always been, carrying out covert operations involving economic warfare, rigged elections, assassinations and even genocide. The CIA is also expert at distorting intelligence to justify its own goals, and this ‘disinformation’ leads to dangerous illusions among our policymakers. But covert operations are its life's blood. The litany of illegal, murderous CIA activity is enough to chill the bones of anyone who cares about liberty and justice. As long as the CIA exists, our government can break any law it chooses in the name of national security. Mark Zepezaeuer, The CIA’s Greatest Hits, 2002
Far from saving this nation, the intelligence agencies have spread the cancer of deception into all walks of life, so that this cancer is contaminating and killing anything of value in the United States. Fritz Springmeier, Bloodlines of the Illuminati
The reason why Kennedy was assassinated was he wanted to end the Vietnam War, and he wanted to end the rule of the CIA. That begets two questions: Did Rome want the Vietnam War? And, Did Rome control the CIA? The answer is yes on both counts. We know, on its face, that the Vietnam War was called ‘Spelly’s War’ – Cardinal Spellman’s war. He went over to the warfront many times and he called the American soldiers the ‘soldiers of Christ’. The man who was the Commander of the American forces was a Roman Catholic, CFR member, possibly a Knight of Columbus, I don’t know, but he was General William Westmoreland.
So, Westmoreland was Cardinal Spellman’s agent to make sure that war was prosecuted properly. And another overseer of Westmoreland was Cardinal Spellman’s boy, Lyndon Baines Johnson. Lyndon Baines Johnson was a 33rd-degree Freemason. He was also part of the assassination, with J Edgar Hoover, another 33rd-degree Freemason ... Spellman wanted the Vietnam War, why? Spellman was controlled by the Jesuits of Fordham. Why did the Jesuit General want the Vietnam War? The people of Vietnam, the Buddhists, were unconvertible. They would not convert to Catholicism. They didn’t need Rome.
There had been a Jesuit presence in Vietnam for centuries, so it had been decided that about a million or so Buddhists would have to be ‘purged’. They would later continue this purge of Cambodia, with Pol Pot, and the purge is yet for Thailand. It was a purging of Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam of all these Buddhists, just like they purged the Buddhists of China with Mao Zedong, because Mao Zedong was completely controlled by the Jesuits. So, they wanted the Vietnam War. Eric Jon Phelps
For the better part of a decade, a Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs of LA and funnelled millions in drug profits to a Latin American guerrilla army run by the CIA. The cocaine that flooded in helped spark a crack explosion in urban America. It is one of the most bizarre alliances in modern history – the union of a US-backed army attempting to overthrow a socialist government and the Uzi-toting gangstas of Los Angeles. Gary Webb
But the fact that the government has been involved in illegal narcotics trafficking, literally overdosing our own people, not third world target audiences, as we would expect ... At that time we had knowledge that the CIA was trafficking in illegal narcotics using Air America, which we over there had our own name for – we called it Air Opium ... As a matter of fact I was surprised and pleased to see the movie Air America finally come out because it showed for maybe the only time in history where the Pepsi Cola plant was set up in Laos, not to put mom and pop bottling companies out of business but rather to do the rather more sophisticated steps of taking opium and morphine into number four Asian [heroin] hell.
