★ Evil

The values by which we are to survive are not rules for just and unjust conduct, but are those deeper illuminations in whose light justice and injustice, good and evil, means and ends are seen in fearful sharpness of outline.  Jacob Bronowski

Being against evil doesn’t make you good.  Tonight I was against it and then I was evil myself.  I could feel it coming just like a tide ... I just want to destroy them.  But when you start taking pleasure in it you are awfully close to the thing you’re fighting.  Ernest Hemingway, Islands in the Stream

Good and Evil are very hard to explain or understand.  I’m sure that evil exists, but it is hard to isolate.  Good and evil are intertwined and impossible to separate.  They are not completely opposites and in fact are often one and the same.  Keith Haring, Keith Haring Journals

Science cuts two ways, of course; its products can be used for both good and evil.  But there’s no turning back from science.  Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
