It’s summer in Dalby forest.  The sun is out.  The days are long.  Situated just 30 miles north of York, across its 8,500 acres, there are thought to be over 3 million trees.  ibid.  

      

Around ten miles away is Dalby’s sister forest, Cropton.  ibid.  

 

Across the country the splash of the beaver is being heard once again in our waterways.  ibid.  

 

Across the forest there is the gentle hum of buzzing insects.  ibid.

Of course the beavers, who were first introduced here in 2019, are experts at adapting to their environment.  They are multiskilled, specialist in architecture, engineering, ecology and carpentry.  ibid.

 

It’s believed deer populations across the UK are soaring.  At their highest numbers for a thousand years.  ibid.

Beavers were extinct in the UK for over 400 years and were only spotted back in England in 2013.  ibid.
